I made scrappy bindings too. The red seems quite out of place in these pics, but I think all the fabrics work well together. The first is king size and the second is a largish lap size.
I was blown away by the Safeway supermarket we went to here in Littleton, Colorado. There were doormen with jackets and ties at the entry and attendants throughout the store.
And get this, along with the glass doored wine tasting room, there was an olive area, specialty nut and cheese sections and a sushi bar!! I felt underdressed in my jeans while shopping there, but it was fun to experience!
I think that piece of red is perfect. I really love backings like this!
ReplyDeleteI love pieced backings, and the red is great.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the store was having a grand opening, or if it is like that everyday? How fun!!
Does your hotel have a pool for Urban? That would help pass the day.
Hi. I am checking out your site after I read that you were doing the backing for Terrie's quilt. I wanted to say how lovely you are for doing it and I enjoy your blog. Hope your move went well, I haven't ready many of the older posts, but will as time permits.
ReplyDeleteEchoing SewLindAnn's comment - THANK YOU for creating the backing for Terry's quilts.
ReplyDeleteThis is so nice of you to do.
ReplyDeleteMy faith in my fellow man(woman)has been renewed through this project.
What great backs! I love to piece my backs and use the extra fabric. It gives me room for more!
ReplyDeleteI am happy that you are enjoying Littleton.
I love the fabrics that yo used on the quilt. That supermarket sounds wonderful....Gee, it must be fancy! I told you that Colorado is great.

Oh I'm excited to see the whole thing!
ReplyDeleteHow are you??
I love pieced backings. It's almost like getting two quilts in one.
ReplyDeleteVery nice pieced backs Mel. Are these for Terry's quilts? I'm sure she's going to love them.
