Welcome to the Halloween Party!

What you'll find here: A Costume Parade (below) Fall Quilt and Basket Show Scary Books and Movies A Rock Garden Tricks Vintage Halloween Media Make sure you scroll down to read all the posts that make up the party fun! OOooo BOY! I am so out of my league with my end of the Halloween Party organized by A Fanciful Twist! You MUST visit her imaginary and very pictorial part of the world! I've been looking at a lot of the other hostesses and they are full on Halloween DIVA'S!!! Well, now I know. I should have gone to College Diva's Soul Journal Halloween Party Tips! Now that I have a better understanding, perhaps I'll try some of the more imaginative and artsy stuff. In the mean time, I hope you get some enjoyment from what I have to offer! Costume Parade This was the first and only year I had a store bought costume. I am a Pussy Cat Doll! My sister, Marianne, is being held up as a prop - much like the pumpkins in the photo! This is me as a clown circa 1978. My mom always made our Halloween costumes. I was so proud to have my daddy walk with me in our school parade! He always dressed up as 'Drachir' (his name spelled back words) for Halloween and it took me a few years to accept that he was my dad! Another year, another parade, another costume! I'm the witch - still am some might say! 1992 This one is TRULY scary isn't it? My best friend and roommate, Alison, and I were grocery shopping one day and saw an add to be a member of a Haunted Forest place. We thought it sounded like fun and it paid a couple of hundred dollars each. Being the poor 1st year college students that we were, we thought it would be easy money! Not so!! It was hard work, hot and stinky with the masks on! The perks were that we were able to scare grown burly men and chase people while snarling and grunting! When the crowd slowed down, all the ghouls and monsters would gather around the big bon fire and make smores. We met a lot of fun people and it was fun having an alter, if not ugly, ego! I am the "Worm Man" on the left. hAlLowEeN 2005 Urban's first Halloween! I bought Urban and Mekhi, Urban's cousin who is 6 weeks younger)these cute Halloween outfits. Urban doesn't like to be Mekhi's pillow and isn't shy about expressing himself! Poor Mekhi looks as though he is perplexed at Urban's complaint! Couldn't you just eat those cheeks up?? My sister Marianne on left, made the two chili costumes out of warm fleece. Aren't they darling! Urban is the red chili. Now, something about Mari's sewing abilities, she doesn't need a pattern! For all the costumes she's made for the boys, none of them used a pattern. If you think that's impressive, I'll have to post a picture of my wedding dress and the attendant's dresses! She made her own wedding dress too. 2006 Mari out did herself with these exquisit pirate outfits! Our wee little pirates even won a couple of costume contests! Urban is looking a bit tired here, we had dragged him all over the town showing him off, poor thing! I have to 2007 Costumes, I'll post when I do!

  23. That is a great Halloween parade. I particularly like that pirate costume. My guy wants to be a ghost, and he'll be lucky if he doesn't end up in mommy's white linen tunic and some baby powder in his hair. ;)

I don't like store bought costumes, but I don't have the tools or time or skills to make something awesome like all these costumes.
