Shapely

Be Aware, Be Thankful

* * * *

So I've been playing with shapes in my art groups.  In one of the groups we were to come up with a shape to use in a collaborative piece.  We haven't done anything with it yet, so I decided to try the shape as a border to a mini quilt.

I 'created' my shape by folding up a piece of newspaper and cutting out the corner shape.

I bound the little quilt in black with a small print, I don't think the print is noticeable here.  I was going to go with a stripe, (I love bias stripes for bindings!) but thought the size and busy-ness of the border print would look better with a more serene binding.

If you are one of the many who Schnibble, you will recognize the center as one of the blocks for this month's project.  I got my top done early and had left overs - I love 2fers!

I used fabrics from the line Oz by Sena for Moda - love it!!

  1. Newspaper . . . who knew?!? Very cute! Are you all planning on taking the camper out soon (or perhaps you already have)? If you ever make a trip southeast, you're welcome to park in our little campground paradise! :)

  2. Ah yes, I can see the roundabout! This looks great! I'll bet it was fun to bind - even though it was a bias!
