Kaaren, a fairly 'new' blogger from Canada, is having a gIveAwaY on her blog, The Painted Quilt.
The giveaway is to commemorate her 50th post and all of the cyber friends she's met along the way.
The item is a wood turned (electric) lamp base that she's beautifully painted in a classic country style. She's a decorative artist who has designed, published and taught but is now retired.
A trip over to Kaaren blog is worth it just to see all the wonderful posts she's done so far and all the inspiring photos of her surroundings and projects.

To add something fun to look at on this post, I will show you a photo of an embroidery on a woman's jacket I saw in a crowd somewhere. Don't you think it would make a lovely applique project? I'm glad I had my camera with me . . . you never know!
