I love the solid colors against a solid black. So, that's the pallet I chose for my Charming Girl's Quilt Along.
I got several solid colors from the Kona Cotton collection by Robert Kaufman. I like the fabric, it has a very nice feel. I didn't want it to be too rainbow-ish so I kept out reds and oranges. I like the final selection.
I have doubled all measurements in the hopes it will come together more quickly.
Another project I intend to use solids for is Baltimore Halloween. A stunning appliqué quilt I hope to begin in January, 2010.
That halloween quilt is awesome! I can't do applique or won't might be a better term. I've thought about doing a paper piece Halloween quilt. Maybe some day . . .
I just love that Halloween quilt. I remember seeing it last year but I have not bought it and probably won't. I will just watch and enjoy yours as you work on it next year.
I love love love your choices of colors. Love that Amish feel. The applique Halloween quilt is quite the stunner. I haven't seen that pattern before. Mary

The Baltimore Halloween quilt is a whopper of a project. I am anxious to see your blocks as you create it.
