Be Aware, Be Thankful

Be Aware, Be Thankful
1. Sister and nephew visiting

2. Husband has job
3. Parents are healthy

As with all good intentions, this is late - but {IMPORTANT} to me.

As regular readers know, my sweet sister-in-law Lissa has been fighting for her life since the beginning of December, 2009.  It takes tragedy to bring blessings into focus and I can say my eyes and heart are looking at life from a different perspective.

In 2010, I am going to begin each post with at least 3 blessings I am thankful for.

This photo was shared a few posts ago, but it epitomizes happiness for me!

Thank you so much for the time you take to blog.  I learn so much from you and what you share. Thank you for the time you take to read my blog.

Be Aware, Be Thankful!

Great idea. A few years ago I watched an Oprah show where she talked about keeping a gratitude journal. I took the challenge, and wrote 3 things I was grateful for in a book faithfully for a year. (and it was a very difficult time at our house) It literally changed my perspective on life, and how I felt about things. There is always a gift in everything that happens.

What a wonderful idea! Sometimes it does take a challenging situation to make us stop and think, and be thankful. We should all count our blessings every day.

What a special photo! One to cherish!

It's a great challenge for all of us. Thank you for the reminder. I love the darling photo of you and your son; it was worth a repost (and maybe again a couple of times in the future, too)! :)

Especially with young kids, I have rediscovered what it is to live in the moment. And for me being grateful is one of those keys that allows me to stop and 'smell the roses' and bask in the glory of today!
I'm with you, Mel!
And that picture is already one of those timeless ones for you and your son.

Great idea Mel. We should all take the time to be thankful for our many blessings daily.

I continue to keep your SIL in my prayers and hope she is continuing to improve.

Your folks Christmas gifts were lovely. I love all the feathery quilting.

I tend to complain more than I'm grateful. Thanks for the reminder.
