Reunion Quilt

* * * *

August is my family's reunion time.  Since we are in Colorado, we won't be going this year.  I did make a quilt for the auction though!

I went through my flannel stash and found everything I needed to make this year's quilt.

I pulled the larger pieces for backing, separated the colors and found several pieced blocks that were left overs from previous quilts.

It's a very scrappy quilt, so I tried to unify everything with some outdoorsy appliqué.

59" X 76"

It was a bear to quilt on my home machine, it took longer to quilt than it did to piece together!  Back home, in Utah I have a few friends who usually let me use their long arms, but no such luck here!

My husband was bummed to find out it was being donated rather than for him!  It's not like we don't have tons of quilts around here already!

Very cute, Mel. I can imagine how tough that was to quilt, but glad you got it done. Guess you need to meet some longarmers in CO.

I can understand his frustration--Perfect "manly" quilt--It is great. I am sure it will bring lots of money at the reunion.

What a great quilt, Mel - I can see why your hubby was disappointed that it wasn't for him :o)

For all Melissa's quilting friends -- her talent, at anything, is amazing. She is wonderful, AND she is my daughter.
