This project is a first for me. It's a fabric post card. Tina, who I met though a secret sister swap months ago sent me a fabric post card she had made. I've seen the idea online before but hadn't tried it myself. When I received the beautiful one Tina made, I knew I had to reciprocate!
I couldn't wait to show the post card, so even though Tina has not yet received it, I have to show it!
I named the piece During the Night for a couple of reasons. I think the setting looks like a quilt emerging through a dark night and I realized that I had created most if the card during the late hours of the night, my best time to create.

Tooele Arts Festival Find
If you read my previous post about simplifying, you may remember that I don't often purchase items unless I need them. Clarification: If the item is recycled, there is a chance I will consider the purchase. If the item is in any way associated with or contains Diet Coke, I'll probably buy it!
Christine recycles aluminum cans by using a die cut machine to create popular shapes then puts a magnet on the back. She calls it funky junq. I fell in love with the idea and of course the Diet Coke cupcake!
Other shapes available: turtles, cars, hello kitty, frogs, seahorses, motorcycles and on and on. One of my favorites was a pig that had been cut from the nutrition facts area of a can.
She uses Red Bull cans, beer cans, cans that contain tea as well as just about all the other fizzy drinks you can think of.

I don't know if you remember that I got an awesome book by Suki of transfers while we were in Moab (UT) a month or so ago.
I couldn't wait to try one out, I thought about stitching around the images with some embroidery floss. I love it!!
I still don't know what I'll do with this yet. I was thinking about making a small purse, or a pin cushion or . . . perhaps you have an idea?

I've been making more wool covered magnets, they are easy to take along projects and I'm addicted to making them! I bought a bag of wool scraps (inexpensive) on ebay and they are perfect for this type of thing.

While I sew and stitch I love to listen to audio books. I've recently listened to Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet, and am now listening to Fountainhead by
Ayn Rand.
