Stamps

I've been saving lids for a good while.
I have a couple of crafting ideas for them.
I have a lot of lids.
ONE IDEA
Last year I received a bottle of red 3-D, or puffy, paint in a swap. What am I to do with this? I haven't done any crafts that require this type of paint. And then I saw my lids.
So, I made my own personalized stamps! I was quite pleased with myself and showed my sweetie to which he responded "What is that?". I've labeled the images of my stamps so you don't have to guess what they are.
The stamped result is a bit primitive looking, but I think it's charming.
I would like to make note cards or gift tags using these and other images.
Above: stamped images
Below: what the 'stamp' looks like
I think it's funny how some of these 'stamps' look like messy globs, especially the little owlie. But they turn out pretty recognizable, unless you ask my husband!
And of course Urban had to have a boy stamp:
I think this stamp would make a cute Thank You card for the birthday gifts he received . . . which reminds me . . .
I have a tutorial in the making, although I don't think it requires much instruction, but the paint is drying on my tute samples. They will be ready by tomorrow.

Have you seen her?

We interrupt this vacation for a regular post (since I can't find my picture downloader thingy!!)
Have you visited Cathe Holden’s blog, Just Something I’ve Made?  This gal is a creative, graphic designing genius!   OK, so I haven’t spotted too many quilty things there but there ARE other items to go “Ooo and Ahhh!” over and she creates them in spades!

My favorite posts (so far) are Happy Accidents: Note Pad cover She uses the leather label tag from a pair of jeans as a cover for a small notebook!  She designed a vintage looking graphic to iron on the leather  and . . .

Another “Why didn’t I think of that?” post is Foil the Boredom  Got restless kids?  Give them a roll of tin foil.  Creativity and happiness ensue!

As I stated, she is a graphic designer and boy can she!  Did you notice the “Don’t Stop Here, Keep Reading” graphic by the Older Posts link on my page?  Yeah, she made that.  In lots of colors, one is sure to match your décor!  She shares lots and lots of her work with those of us who are graphically challenged.

To echo a commenter on her blog, “I have a creative crush” on Cathe!

I'm echoing the beautiful post that Kim of Bitty Bits & Pieces had today. Doesn't it stir that creative dust in your head??

Thanks to Regina of Creative Kismet for the organizing and swapping the flock of feathered friends!!

So Excited!

OK, I've GOT to tell you...I've been trying to keep it secret for DAYS now, but I can't any longer!!
My blog is getting a MAKEOVER!!!!
I won a blog makeover from Shera of Sweet and Simple Design. It was a giveaway I signed up for over at Bloggy Givaways.
Shera is so great to work with! I gave her a slew of info about me, what the purpose of my blog is and some color prefrences and she quickly sent me a few images to try on for size. They were just what I was looking for!
She's gotta 'tweek' it so the hair color is right and some other stuff, but I should have a preview of what she came up with TODAY!!
Now, I can't just throw a new blog look on and call it good! I gotta' have a GIVEAWAY dontcha' think? I'm still brainstorming here, but there will be at least three different items for three different winners. One clue: A NON homemade gift that I GAVE for Christmas.
One GIVEAWAY will be a secret right up until I announce the winner! Hmm?! Where would I choose that name from?
I will draw all the winners this Sunday,(Jan 18th) since I'm signed up for ANOTHER GIVEAWAY during the One World ~ One Heart Giveaway event that runs Jan 19 thru Feb 12.
So. Stay tuned! The MAKEOVER GIVEAWAY post will be up THIS Friday, before I leave for a girls weekend!
