Last Day of Retreat

Be Aware, Be Thankful

This was the last day of Galloping Pony's Cyber Retreat.

I got my sewing machine working, so I was able to piece some more Picnic blocks.  And then my machine quit again.  I'm going to have to find a place to take it to get serviced.  I've had it for nearly 12 years and have heavily used it!

It only cost me $300 so, it was a good investment!  It's not a popular brand and there aren't bells and whistles, but it has the straight stitch and zig zag and has been a good accomplice.

Oh, and I won a round of Quilto!!  I actually got two, but was too late in reporting the first one.  I got to pick a pattern from Galloping Pony, so I selected Pretty Thing.  I love the combination of medias.

I've also been hand quilting on my PIFs. Can't show whole quilt yet!!

I love hand work, it's so relaxing!  I listen to an audio book and time flies!  I just got done listening to A Prisoner of Birth by Jeffery Archer and now I'm listening to Middlemarch by George Elliot

Don't forget to come by on Tuesday when I will be having a {{GIVEAWAY}}!!

I love your picnic basket blocks. Sorry about the machine. Even when they are old and have given us good use, it's still frustrating for them not to work when we have time and the inclination to sew!!!

I love the way that Picnic is working out. It has to be so frustrating to have to quit due to the machine failure. Grrr.

It's a great idea to listen to a book while hand working. I love the quiet of hand stitching as well, but generally do it while watching television or traveling.

We don't need a fancy machine, just one that is reliable and will do a straight stitch. True? I hope yours can be fixed soon. $300 has been well spent if it's lasted this long with so much use.
