How I’m Spending My Days

Be Aware, Be Thankful
1.  Health
2.  Knowledge
3.  Confidence

Boy it’s been hectic around here!!

1.  I got a full time job at Harriet’s Treadle Arts.  International quilt teacher and book author Harriet Hargrave’s shop.

inside I LOVE my job!!  Harriet and her daughter Carrie are sooo skilled and have written several precision instructional books.  Harriet is out much of the time teaching or giving lectures.

The ladies I work with are so very kind and knowledgeable too, they made me feel right at home!

areaThey have some AWESOME Japanese magazines!  I’ll take more pics of other wonderful stuff I’m around all day!

The shop is going to be getting a New and Improved website soon, so I’ll post that when it’s ready.

2.  I’m sewing up all the beautiful donated 4 patch blocks for Lissa (more on that later)

mailMany of you made patches, Jane collected the blocks, I’m sewing up the top and backing and Millie volunteered to quilt it! THANK YOU EVERYONE!!

3.  I’m getting ready to go visit my parents in Argentina
(No pics of that, but I am!)  I’m even going to meet up with a blogging/quilting friend that lives in Buenos Aires!!

4.  I’m involved in some swaps that have immediate deadlines!

brionisnowflake This is a 6 1/2” paper pieced snowflake for Jane’s Quilt Around the World Christmas Swap.  This is the smallest flake I’ve made and therefore the hardest!!  But I love how it turned out!!

dresden 12 1/2” square using vintage sheets, made by Tracey in NZ

I received this beautiful vintage sheet Dresden plate block from the Vintage Sheet Freedom Swap.  I LOVE it!!  Amazing work!!

Oh! And that reminds me, I need to gather fabric for the Brown Bag Quilt Fabric Exchange & Quilt Challenge!!

AND . . .

I won my first Layer Cake ever from Natalia who owns Piece N Quilt!!

layercakeEvery Tuesday she hosts Talkin Tuesday on Twitter.  Lots of quilters from around the country join in and there is a prize every week.  Join us tomorrow why dont’cha?

Thanks for checking in with me! How are YOU doing??
