The previous post was very helpful to me - thank you!


I've since been able to adjust my blog to 3 columns, change the appearance to my sewing lady and add new sign-age, make a NEW button with html code so YOU can add my button to your blog - go on, have me over for a visit!


I'm feeling a lot better about the look of my blog.  


A few more things I'd like to fix:

1. Spacing between sidebar content
2. Remove extra space above header
3. Remove info before postings
4. Add a 'spacer' image on sidebar content
5. Change up my signature
6. Add a bit of color/texture on the side of my blog

I've been moping around the last couple of days due to the appearance of my blog.


I know - it's silly, but I feel like I'm up on stage with only my frumpy clothes to wear because my 'good' clothes are in the wash.  My hair and makeup aren't done, yet here I am.


I'm not a vain person, just particular and I can't get my blog to do (look) what I want!

1. I don't have the programs necessary to create how I want
2. I don't have the programing knowledge to create layouts that are unique
3. My computer is REALLY slow
4. I can't find a ready made layout that says 'Mel'

I'm turning off comments for this post because I'm embarrassed enough as it is for throwing my own pity party!

Yes, that is me screaming, pulling my hair out, going cross eyed, throwing fists and shaking my computer!

Many of you noticed that my blog page went 'private' for a few days.  That was intentional on my part to save you from the MESS I got myself into while trying to give my blog a makeover!!




I'm going 'public' with my blog again at this point, having sorta fixed it for now.  This is NOT the final result.  I'll be tinkering with it here and there and hopefully I won't have to yank it from the web again!


Thanks for your concerns and patience!  I should just stick to fabric manipulation!!!

I've noticed that I've been missing a lot around here in blogland, but I've had a great couple of days, it's my birthday!! I see that some friends are having GIVEAWAYS!! Nanette in honor of being PUBLISHED and her 1 year blog anniversary Jane needs cookie help and is coming up on her 100th post These ladies are VERY GENEROUS you won't want to miss out! Christine, another blog friend posted about a GIVEAWAY at Sheri Howard's blog Shari Howard Designs (She is a designer for Cotton Way as well as other endeavors) Oh, oh AND she has instructions on how to make a mini CHOCOLATE CAKE in a mug! I stumbled upon a blog that is all about events on peoples blogs called, Blog Events Dex that lists GIVEAWAYS etc. I have lots to show and tell about my birthday, but my computer is acting up AGAIN so I can't access my pictures, but I will when/if it gets better!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! It has only been since August of this year that I have been posting to this blog. Over these fun several months, I have been so blessed and amazed at all the wonderful friends I have made that I would not have met otherwise! Who knew that I would be chatting with new friends from all over the U.S. or visiting with quitlers from Australia? I am thankful for the friendships I have gained. The things I've learned and the charm you all have added to my life will be held in my heart always. To all of you with whom I've been blessed to get to know, THANK YOU for sharing your creative lives with me! ~Mel

Well I decided after establishing my family blog, http://www.urbansfamily.blogspot.com/ that I NEEDED a spot of my very own for MY stuff. On this blog I will be posting all things quilt, bakset, and reading related. Some garden stuff too. I hope to showcase my acomplishments here so family, friends, members of my online groups etc. can see what I've been up to and what inspires me. PLEASE leave me comments when you visit! And on we go!
