Roll, A Peek, and Finish

I've been salivating over jelly rolls now ever since they've been introduced, but haven't ever purchased one . . . until now!
The Missouri Quilt Co has amazing deals EVERY day. I look longingly at the wonderful offerings every day wishing I had a separate (full) bank account just for fabric! Last week I couldn't resist - I HAD to have this jelly roll. It was 55% off!!

This project was a 2-in-1 for me.
I joined a fat quarter / table runner swap in which my partner, Diane, sent me 9 fat quarters of her choice and I was to make her a table runner or topper from what ever pattern I wanted. I chose the one the Schnibbles group is doing for September.
I'll show you the entire quilt when Diane let's me know she's received the package. ;)

And I was able to get my Vintage Halloween Postcard Quilt quilted!
I really like how it turned out, even though I'm a bit bummed that the 'postcards' printed too light.
That's ONE of two goals for my Charming Girl's Quilt Club for September. I'll tell you right now that I don't think I'll get my other goal completed this month, but I will continue to work on it!

YAY! A Finish!

This is the quilt I made during Pat Sloan's online Orange Project Challenge at the beginning of this year.
I've had the binding and backing (a nice soft yellow chenille) ever since I got the top done, but haven't got it quilted until now.
One trick to get it done was to put it on my 'to-do' list for the Charming Girls Quilt Club, the other trick was finding time at the quilt shop when the long arm wasn't being used!
I quilted free-hand in a very 'wonky' manner since the piecing is also haphazard.
I love the look of quilts after they've had a spin in the wash.
If you like the blocks, follow my Wonky OP tutorial!

Charming Girl's Quilt Club - July

I joined this fun group hoping to get some motivation to get more of my unfinished projects done! There are even prizes, so that should get me inspired!
Participants post an unfinished project(s) per month and for every finish, you get your name put into the monthly giveaway. Sounds like a good incentive to me!
There are other optional activities in the group like swaps and quilt alongs. I'm excited, go take a look and see if it interests you!

Here are the projects I want, no WILL finish this month:
  1. Kathy's Simple Quilt (Sew Sweet original design) out of Glace by 3 Sisters for Moda. It will be 95" X 97". This is all I have done so far. Each block is 10".
  2. Witchie Hats (my own design) for Jane's Spooktackular Halloween Swap. I'm making fifteen 12 1/2" paper pieced blocks - 12 for swapping and three for individual swaps.
    DARN!!
I will have to carry this project over to August's 'To Do' list!
  3. I would also like to get one of my quilt tops quilted, particularly my nephew Colin's.
I better leave it at that and not put too much more on my plate!
Best of luck to all who are tackeling unfinished items this month!

July REPORT: Well, 2 out of 3 isn't bad!
